• The film began when the figure maker Albatross, which held the film rights to Senkosha's tokusatsu shows, brought Junya Okabe a project merging three of them: Silver Kamen, Iron King and Super Robot Red Baron. Okabe judged three too many, proposed keeping only Silver Kamen and Red Baron, and wrote the script himself.
• Okabe's company Blast made the film outside the industry-standard production committee system, with Okabe raising the money himself, and a crowdfunding campaign was run before release to raise advertising funds. Okabe also served as producer, screenwriter, editor and director.
• For the upgraded suit Silver (R2), the action fell to stuntman Masaaki Nitta, who even traced the movement tics Shunsuke Daito had developed from old injuries.
• Shunsuke Daito, who plays Kazuya, performed most of the action himself in the Silver (R1) suit, which was fitted by measuring his and his suit actor's body lines. Okabe took as a reference a Black Panther suit displayed in Los Angeles from Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther.
• The effects favoured digital work and dropped traditional miniature photography, while the alien scenes leaned on practical suit and mechanical effects; the modelling used a Stratasys 3D printer of the kind employed on Iron Man.
• The eldest Kasuga brother, Koichi, was played by an actor of the same name who was found through a general audition, and the film became his debut.
• Chihiro Yamamoto made her tokusatsu debut in the film and later gained wider recognition as an action actress in Kamen Rider Heisei Generations and Ultraman Geed, so much so that Okabe said the surprise value he had counted on had worn off.
