Plot summary
Donna Foster works for the publisher John Caine. His niece Christabel comes to stay with her in San Francisco while she attends business school. Christabel is scheming and socially ambitious. At a party for Donna's friend, the painter Gabriel Broome, she flirts with Donna's fiancé Curtis Carey, a wealthy man. Nick Bradley, an aspiring author, also takes an interest in her. Donna is Christabel's cousin.
