Plot summary
Eitan is a forty-year-old footballer in Tel Aviv. He has played the game for years, and age is catching up with him. His life is unsettled. He loves his girlfriend, but they have been together a long time and he does not know where the relationship should go. Much of his thinking is about the past and about what waits for him when he stops playing. He is asked to lose a match for money, and he has doubts about doing it. He also meets Nimrod, a boy who is a fan of his, and the meeting weighs on him as the last match of his career comes closer.

- Two weeks into shooting Bloomfield in Israel, director Uri Zohar left the production, and Richard Harris took over as director a week later. Because Harris was not in a technical union, a crew union ordered its members to stop working, but they carried on anyway.
- Richard Harris planned to spend five weeks in Israel for the shoot but stayed five months, which cost him the title role in the film Scrooge; Albert Finney took the part instead.
