Plot summary
Ms. Park taught for years before retiring to the countryside, where illness now keeps her at home and Mi-ja, a former student, looks after her. Sixteen years after graduation, Mi-ja brings classmates back for a reunion at the house. Each guest carries an old grudge: Se-ho and Eun-young, a couple, over Ms. Park's mockery of their poverty; Dal-bong over the cast on his leg, the result of punishment squats after he lost a relay; Sun-hee over her teacher's remarks about her weight; Myung-ho over the abuse he endured. Jung-won, once ridiculed in class for soiling himself, stopped attending school after his mother was hit by a car. The guests try to keep up a cheerful front, and the old anger breaks through at a barbecue.
