A severe possession takes hold of a boy named Hee-joon, leaving him overwhelmed by pain. The Church questions the nature of the case and the risks involved, and delays its intervention. As Hee-joon's condition worsens, Sister Junia, a nun with a strict faith who has been through spiritual crises, takes responsibility for overseeing his care. Sister Michaela, a younger nun who doubts supernatural explanations, decides to help her, and she does not give up on the boy. Father Paolo, a priest who is also a psychiatrist, believes Hee-joon can be cured with medical treatment. Father Andreas performs a ritual to save the boy.
