Plot summary
The family of Fuad Ramses runs an American diner in France, and business there is poor. Fuad takes a second job, night work at a museum of Egyptian culture. Through those lonely hours a statue of the ancient goddess Ishtar holds his attention; the figure is seductive, and she speaks to him in visions. Fuad finds himself more and more allured by her.
