Plot summary
James Donahue finds a YouTube video in 2014. It contains an image of a woman he takes to be his sister Heather, who has been missing since 1994 near Burkittsville, Maryland, while she was researching the Blair Witch legend. He wants to learn what happened, so he heads into the woods with his friend Peter Jones, Ashley Bennett, who is Peter's girlfriend, and film student Lisa Arlington, who intends to document the search as The Absence of Closure. Two locals, Talia and Lane, posted the video and offer to lead the group to where the tape was found, provided they can come along.
