Plot summary
Manuel Galloway, called Smoke, holds the title of King of Cali in underground motorcycle drag racing and presides over the Black Knights, a club whose members are white-collar workers who trade suits and ties for leather. A challenger's crash at a race kills Smoke's mechanic, Slick Will. Months later, Slick Will's son Kid hustles races alongside a fellow rider named Stuntman. Kid cuts into a race to show off a new bike and impress a woman named Tina, and he and his friends then face a jury of club leaders to win approval for a club of their own, the Biker Boyz. Kid insults Motherland to provoke Smoke, and a rivalry builds.
