Plot summary
In Kolkata, Alexander runs a syndicate that kidnaps girls and sells them to buyers abroad, and he kills a CBI officer who raids the port. Shankar and his sister Mahalakshmi move to the city, where he pulls children clear of an electrical accident and finds work driving for a taxi company owned by Vamsi, and she enrolls at an arts college. His first passenger is Lasya, a lawyer desperate for a career breakthrough, and she talks him into standing in court as a witness who cannot speak. The DCP asks the city's transport workers to report anything suspicious tied to the syndicate, and Shankar picks several of Alexander's men from a list.
