Plot summary
Mikey comes from an affluent background and is discreet about being gay. A drug pushing case brings him to a city jail, and he is to remain there for five years while the charge is heard. The jail has its own culture and its own stratification among the inmates. Mikey holds back rather than pushing forward, adapting to both. He shares the place with a group of gay inmates known as Gang-da. Gang riots are one danger he faces, and the ordinary, uneventful stretches of the days are another. The decay of human dignity is part of life inside the jail.
