  • Arya was remade five times: as Badha (2005) in Bengali (Bangladesh), Pagala Premi (2007) in Odia, Pagal Premi (2007) in Bengali, Adaraye Namayen (2008) in Sinhala and Kutty (2010) in Tamil, and was followed by a spiritual sequel, Arya 2, in 2009.
  • Arya gave Allu Arjun a major breakthrough in his acting career and earned his director Sukumar recognition in Telugu cinema.
  • Sukumar had his hero confess his love at the very start of Arya, unlike Darr (1993), Kabhie Haan Kabhie Naa (1994) and Kaadhal Kondein (2003), where the protagonist's feelings surface only at the end; he called that idea obsolete.
