Beast of Cardo (2015) on Netflix

Plot summary

Moira Cruz-Daruich is a wealthy young Dominican woman who has a history of delusions and has been living in New York, where she is completing a master's degree. She must return to Cardo, her hometown, for good and face the two-faced society she had always run from. Ill-tempered but spineless, she follows her parents' orders and helps them build prestige for their traditional New Year's Eve party, then makes a mistake that puts the family's reputation further at risk. She befriends Hermes, a tailor in the town, who urges her to flee by supernatural means. Cardo's people are unforgiving, and escape appears improbable.
