Plot summary

Milla Finlay is sixteen, the daughter of a wealthy family, and has just been told that she has cancer. One day, on her way home from school, she meets Moses on a railway platform, and he asks her for money almost at once. She develops a crush on him and introduces him to her parents, Anna and Henry. Anna plays music for a living and Henry works as a psychiatrist, and both are uneasy about the age gap between Moses, who is twenty-three and a drug addict, and their daughter. They allow him to stay around anyway because Milla is ill.
