Plot summary
Luci Thompson is a fifteen-year-old schoolgirl. Her mother, Liz, has cancer and takes her own life. Luci goes to live in the countryside with Liz's old friend Robert Quayle, his wife Amy and their son Nick. Emotionally disoriented, Luci looks to the household for the comfort she needs, and she also tries out the hold that her sexual fascination gives her over the people around her. Her arrival brings sexual and psychological tensions to the surface.
