Plot summary
Ian, a teenage rebel, lives with his father on the margins of society, and the two of them survive by running small scams. The cons land because Ian can project visual illusions into the minds of the people he targets. When one of those scams goes wrong, Ian loses control of his powers in public. A secret agency starts to pursue him, and a second organization, a rival of the first, wants him just as much. Both organizations are after the teenager and what he can do, each of them hoping to turn that power to its own ends.
