You Shall Not Sleep (2018) on Netflix

Plot summary

In 1980s Buenos Aires, Bianca Aguilar looks after her schizophrenic father, Miguel, while working as an actress. After a run in Antigona she is offered a part by Krasso, assistant to the dramatist Alma Böhm, in Insomnes, a play Alma tried to stage in 1984 until its lead, Marlene, left the stage mid-performance after days without sleep. Bianca hesitates; during a crisis Miguel attacks her arm, and she has him admitted to a hospital. She takes the role and finds her old friend Cecilia in the cast. Both move into an abandoned psychiatric hospital outside the city, where Alma, Fonzo and Sara are waiting. Alma's method requires the cast to go without sleep, and the days without rest bring hallucinations.
