- Atropia's premise of a military role-playing facility is rooted in a real place: Hailey Gates' 2019 short Shako Mako, part of Miu Miu's Women's Tales series and starring Alia Shawkat, followed an actress on the set of a replica foreign village at Fort Irwin National Training Center, where the U.S. military trains soldiers before combat.
