Plot summary
Julien Auclert teaches school and lives with his wife Lisa and their son Oscar. One morning police arrest Lisa for the murder of her boss, and a court sentences her to twenty years. The evidence: an argument with him that day, her fingerprints on the fire extinguisher that killed him, blood on her coat. Julien believes she is innocent, raises Oscar alone and keeps appealing, but three years bring no new evidence. With the law exhausted, he seeks out Henri Pasquet, a former prisoner who escaped seven times and wrote a book on his methods. Pasquet tells him no prison is airtight, that getting out is easy while staying free is not, and to cut family ties, leave the country within hours, fly from a foreign airport and carry fake documents and enough cash for years.
