Plot summary
After an undercover detail goes wrong, Chris Lecce and Bill Reimers are handed a new assignment: watch a lakeside house where Luella Delano, who is set to testify in a Mafia trial, may be heading. She vanished after an attack that killed her husband Mike and several of her guards. The district attorney's office sends assistant district attorney Gina Garrett and her rottweiler Archie along to keep an eye on the two detectives, and the trio takes a judge's summer house next door to Brian and Pam O'Hara, friends of Luella, under cover as a husband, wife and son. Chris has trouble of his own: Maria McGuire, his girlfriend of six years, is throwing him out because he will not marry her.
