Plot summary
Frank Jessup drives an ambulance and hopes to run a repair shop for sports cars. One evening he answers an emergency call at a posh estate, where he meets Diane Tremayne, a beautiful heiress. Diane arranges a series of meetings that look like chance encounters, and a relationship develops between them. Frank's involvement with Diane leads him to alienate his girlfriend, Mary Wilton. Diane lives at the estate with her father, Charles Tremayne, and her stepmother, Catherine Tremayne. The Tremaynes then hire Frank as their chauffeur and give him his own rooms on the estate, and he takes the position.
