Plot summary
Takashi Hirayama lives in Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture, with his grandmother, and he is unemployed and apathetic. The area lies in a vague rural-urban zone north of Tokyo. Takashi is a country hipster who avoids work and is a not-so-smart life expert. His friend does real work, shoveling cow manure, and Takashi finds that funny. One day a young woman arrives in the area and says she is his half-sister, the child of an escapade by his late father. She is the kind of person who cannot easily be shaken off.
