Plot summary
Vincent Doane works in advertising and is handed the job of landing Margot Fraser's perfume account. He tells his wife Paula that the client is a Mr. Fraser, since Margot is his former girlfriend and he expects Paula to read too much into the arrangement. Paula, meanwhile, suspects her husband is carrying on with someone else. She goes to the Burke Agency and hires an actor to flirt with her during a dinner at a nightclub restaurant, hoping to stir Vincent's jealousy. Mr. Burke lets Vincent know what his wife has arranged, and Vincent decides to play along. At the restaurant the seating is changed, and the man who takes the actor's place at the table is Claude Kimball, a tobacco tycoon.
