Plot summary
Léa is twelve and her brother Maxime is eight. Their parents are divorced, and the two children alternate: one week at their mother's, Marjorie, and the next at their father's, François. Léa blames Marjorie, a businesswoman, for the separation and makes her the target of her anger. She waits for the weeks with François, who quit his bank job to offer free hugs on street corners and has little money. Maxime turns his sense of injustice into a campaign to save the planet. Over the school year the parents each try to rebuild their lives while Léa nears her thirteenth birthday.
