Plot summary
Colombine is thirteen and lives with her mother, who refuses to name her father. Home is full of conflict, so the girl runs away to look for a man she has never met. Mathilde, a greengrocer, helps her with a magic potion, and Colombine lands at the Fête des Vignerons in Vevey, months before her own time. The festival is a gigantic live show, and the adults around her seem to belong to another world. Dazzled by what she sees, and with nobody to guide her, she must rely on her own judgment and courage to learn who her father is.
