Plot summary
Go is an ancient Chinese board game with more possible positions than atoms in the observable universe, and it has long stood as a hard challenge for artificial intelligence. DeepMind develops AlphaGo, a program that learns the game through AI, and tests it against the European champion. The team then arranges for the program to face Lee Sedol, South Korea's world champion and top-ranked player, in a best-of-five competition called the Google DeepMind Challenge Match. The contest is held in Seoul from March 9 to 15, 2016, and a worldwide audience follows it as a Go master takes on an unproven AI challenger.
