Plot summary
Doug is looking for someone to fix his attention on, and he chooses Amy. He hides spy cameras in her apartment and studies what they show him, learning the music and films she likes and the shape of her days. What he gathers he turns into common ground. He turns up at her coffee shop more than once, striking up conversations, and the two of them become friends. Amy keeps the relationship at friendship and will not take it further, while his interest in her grows past watching. The story unfolds largely from the angle of the cameras Doug has planted in her home.
