Plot summary
Nearly everything here comes from the roughly 200 hours of footage that Blind Melon's lead singer Shannon Hoon shot between 1990 and 1995 with a Hi8 camcorder. The tapes follow the band's early days in Los Angeles, his time with Guns N' Roses while they recorded Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II, moments with family and bandmates, and the attention that followed 'No Rain' and its music video. Hoon's own voice and the date stamps on the screen carry the chronology, with no outside interviews or commentary. They also record Lisa Sinha's pregnancy, the arrival of their daughter, Nico Blue, and his struggles with substance abuse.
