Plot summary
Joan Manning, a police sergeant's daughter, has married Chick Williams in secret, and he has convinced her that he has given up crime. Chick is a prohibition gangster who rejoins his mob after a prison term. One evening he takes Joan to the theater and slips out during the intermission. A policeman is killed in a robbery that night, and Chick falls under suspicion. Joan's account of the evening is the alibi he offers, and it stands between him and a charge. The detective squad sets out to bring him to justice.
