Ace Ventura: Pet Detective Jr. (2009) on Netflix

Plot summary

Twelve-year-old Ace Ventura Jr. wants to be a pet detective like his father, who vanished when Ace was a baby, and his mother Melissa keeps trying to steer him away from it. At school he investigates a string of pet thefts, among them the emerald green koi fish of Laura, the girl he likes, with forensics help from A-Plus, a science nerd whose locker holds a lab. Other students mock his efforts. Then a baby panda named Ting Tang disappears from the Miami Zoo. Melissa had been arranging the panda's pen, so she takes the blame and is arrested. Ace's grandfather Rex moves in to look after him and starts teaching his grandson the family trade so the boy can clear her name.
