Plot summary
Manu, also called Abhimanyu, is a poor farmer in a small town, living with his father, Shyam Lal, his mother and his unmarried sister, Tulsi. Pannalal, the son of the wealthy Ram and Parvati, comes back home, is taken with Tulsi's beauty and forces himself on her. Learning that Pannalal is behind Tulsi's condition, Manu goes to him and asks him to marry her; Pannalal scoffs at him and humiliates him. Rather than let the insult stand, Manu and Tulsi invent wealthy foreign identities and work a plan against Pannalal, bringing in their friend Pyare and Ram's friend, the industrialist G.S. Parmeshwaran.
