Abducted in Plain Sight (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

The Brobergs are a church-going family in a small Idaho community. Jan, one of three daughters, is twelve. Their neighbor, Robert Berchtold, becomes close to the family and turns his attention to her. In 1974 he takes Jan away, and she is gone for five weeks. She then returns to her family and tells the courts that nothing happened, so he goes free. Jan and her mother first told the story in a 2003 memoir, Stolen Innocence: The Jan Broberg Story, and the documentary retells it through interviews with Jan, her parents and her sisters, and through staged scenes. It is also known as Forever B.
