Plot summary
Tug-of-war is a sport Kerala follows closely, and the men who pull on the rope spend their days at ordinary jobs. Ani has been embarrassed at a few important moments in his life, and he wants to set that right. His answer is to gather a team of players and take them far in tug-of-war contests. The men he brings in earn their living from rubber tapping and catering work, and the competitions give them a name to be proud of. A side called Aaha Neeloor, which held the top spot in the sport for about fifteen years across the nineteen eighties and nineties, is the model for the group.
