Plot summary
At university, Ahmed Ouannas is an 18-year-old student of French and Algerian background who has grown up in the Paris suburbs. Farah Kallel, a Tunisian who has just come from Tunis, is full of energy. Ahmed encounters a body of Arabic literature that is sensual and erotic, a corpus he never knew existed. While he discovers these texts, he falls deeply in love with Farah. Desire overwhelms him, and he tries to resist it.
