Plot summary
Annie spends her first twelve years in a Greek orphanage, wanting nothing more than parents. An elderly wealthy American couple adopts her and brings her to the United States, where she has fifteen happy years. Then one event turns her world upside down, and the shy girl gives way to Jezebel, the name she was born with, a woman who means to take justice into her own hands. On that path she meets Antoine, a sincere man who seems to care for her, and it is unclear whether he will help her leave the mission behind or carry her further into it.
