Plot summary
The machines are winning the war against humans, and they track their targets by voice, so any spoken word gives a person away. Tomasz, a deserter, steals a vehicle and drives into the emptiness of northern Scandinavia to leave the battle behind. There he meets Lilja, a Russian resistance fighter, the sole survivor of her combat group, who has not given up the fight. She pursues a plan of her own against the machines, one that pulls them toward the region where Tomasz meant to hide. The drones close in with every minute that passes, listening for the remains of the human race.

- Because the enemy machines in A Living Dog react to human speech, there is almost no talking in the film: only two sentences are spoken in total, one in English and one in Russian.
- A Living Dog was shot in Lapland at midnight sun time in 2016. Because some scenes also required night shots, a few short shoots were added later in North Rhine-Westphalia.
