Plot summary
Salem, Massachusetts, provides a house for its sheriff, and Wayne Downs, newly appointed to the post, moves his family in. Witches haunt the place, and the one they are after is the sheriff: his blood is what they want. A curse rooted in the witch trials of 1692 hangs over the house and over the office he has taken. He means to keep his family safe from the ghosts that share the place.
