a-ha: The Movie (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar formed their first band together at age ten, growing up in 1970s Norway, a country then known for scoring nothing at the Eurovision Song Contest and for never having produced a group famous beyond its borders. They kept the dream anyway, and with Morten Harket the three became a-ha. In 1985 Take On Me reached number one on Billboard in the United States, and the success they had chased arrived, though all three answer with some doubt: they had wanted serious rock stardom, not teenage idolatry in glossy magazines. Filming them on tour, the cameras find three men in their fifties who ride in separate limousines, sleep in separate hotels and dress in separate rooms, sharing only the stage. The question is why friends since childhood have grown cold with one another.
