Plot summary
Pierce is a screenwriter and Mark, an actor, lives in the basement flat below him. Mark shares the place with his girlfriend Sally and his brother David, who is paralyzed after a rugby accident. The rent is overdue and the flat has fallen into disrepair. Mark spends money that was meant for the rent, and Sally decides to end their relationship. Mark also avoids landlord Jack, so Jack is not told what the flat needs. A run of freak accidents then leaves several bodies in the flat. Neither man caused any of the accidents, and both worry that the police would blame them.
