Plot summary
Six students serve Saturday detention at Crestview Academy. Matt Clark, who was handed an expulsion notice, persuades Headmaster Nash to replace it with an eight-hour detention, and sits it out with Tarek Ahmed, Craig Cook, Veronica Harmon, Megan McDurst and Tricia Wilkes. Psychologist Dr. Day confiscates their phones, restricts their internet access, assigns them a written history of the school and locks them in the newly remodeled library. Janitor Max has hung Native American portraits there and added an Apache statue, and the students decide the room is haunted. A storm outside disrupts the lights and electronics. The six argue among themselves, and their past clashes have been caught on camera. Each of them also comes from a difficult family.
