Plot summary
Finn Conrad's father changed his will shortly before he died and left $100,000 to Willa, the nurse who looked after him. Finn and his sister Molly read the will and doubt her motives; Finn wants the money to stay in the family. He travels to Bramble, Oregon, without telling anyone that he is the man's son, and stays at the inn where Willa and her son Scout are spending Christmas on a two-week vacation the man also left her. Life for Willa and Scout has been complicated for years, and the holiday at Bramble House is a break from it.
