Plot summary
After his mother dies in a car accident, Chuck Wilson moves his wife Maria and his younger sister Isabelle into a house in Ashland Falls. The siblings were already strained, because Chuck had kept his distance from his biological family. Isabelle was present when their mother died and lives with depression; she prefers therapy, while Chuck presses her to take medication as Maria does, and the two argue. Soon Maria and Isabelle notice strange occurrences in the house. A neighbor tells Chuck that the ghost of Helen Foster haunts the town, targets people with mental illness and pushes them to suicide.
