Plot summary
Christmas brings Zip and Zap one punishment after another: a raid on a relative's toy store to seize toys as payback ended with the shop in flames. The vacation they hoped for is swapped for a boat trip with their parents, and the destination turns out to be a remote island. Their car gives out in front of an orphanage, where Miss Pam offers the family a place to stay. The boys are taken with the freedom the children there enjoy, though those children have no families, and they befriend three of them, Flecky, Macky and Pippi. Then their parents are gone from the house.
