Plot summary
Penny and Jonathan Younger operate a self-storage facility in Los Angeles, and their marriage is strained: Jonathan pays more attention to the women who rent units than to her, and Penny, plain and skittish, has even imagined killing him. After Jonathan has been flirting with a customer, a blast of noise from an organ startles her so badly that she dies of a heart attack. Their college-aged son Winston comes home for the funeral and stays on to help run the place, and a stream of quirky customers tests his patience. Meanwhile Jonathan keeps encountering Penny's spirit, which grows younger and more attractive to him with each appearance.
