Yona Yona Penguin (2009) on Netflix

Plot summary

Coco is a young girl fascinated by penguins who often wears a penguin costume. When bullies say penguins cannot fly, she insists her late father once flew with them and tries it, then falls. She finds a penguin-shaped capsule holding the parts of a toy robot cat, and a wing covered in golden feathers. The cat comes to life, leads her to a hidden store of penguin merchandise, and becomes a goblin named Chaley. Chaley takes her to the goblins' land, certain she is the chosen flightless bird who will save his world, while her grandfather follows quietly behind. The villagers describe Buccaboo, an evil entity whose devil henchmen are wrecking their home, and Buccaboo's lead henchman Zammie arrives to taunt them. Coco protests that she is human, not a bird, and the goblins offer to send her back.
