Plot summary

At Kuranose High School in Tokyo, seventeen-year-old Makoto Konno finds a message written on a blackboard and then falls onto a walnut-shaped object. Riding to the Tokyo National Museum to meet her aunt, Kazuko Yoshiyama, she loses her bicycle's brakes at a railroad crossing, and a train strikes her. She comes to moments before that ride. Kazuko Yoshiyama helps her understand that she has been leaping through time. Makoto turns the ability on small troubles: she is never late, her grades climb, she avoids mishaps, and a single karaoke session runs for hours. She also discovers that her leaps touch other people's days, changing more than she intended.
