Plot summary
A pop photographer and his girlfriend, the model Penny Lane, move into the flat next door to Oscar Collins, a scientist who lives shut away in an apartment crammed with clutter. A beam of light comes through a hole in the wall that divides the two homes. Collins follows the light and sees Penny posing for photographs. Day after day he makes more holes and watches her photo sessions, becoming a Peeping Tom. The girl fascinates him, and he comes to feel a part of the couple's life, forsaking his work to observe them. Daydreams and delusions fill his days.

- George Harrison left a lyrical song, "In the First Place" by the Remo Four, out of Wonderwall's score because he believed Joe Massot wanted only instrumental music. It came out as a single in 1999, with Harrison believed to have sung and played on it while being credited only as producer.
- Wonderwall won an award but never landed a proper distribution deal, leaving a print to surface on the American midnight-movies circuit in the 1970s. Its home video releases in the 1980s and 1990s were all of rather low technical quality.
