Plot summary

The documentary traces how Abercrombie & Fitch turned into a pop culture success in the late 1990s and 2000s after Mike Jeffries arrived as chief executive in 1992, and the controversies that came with its popularity, among them racist and exclusionary practices. Much of the film centers on a 2003 class-action lawsuit over the stores' hiring policies, which, the suit claimed, excluded people on racial and other grounds, and it features interviews with some of the original participants in that case. The film also explores the company's toxic culture. Samantha Elauf, rejected for employment because she wore a headscarf to her interview, is featured as well; Abercrombie fought her case, which went to the Supreme Court in 2015.
