Plot summary
Dr. Jacobo Grinberg works at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, where he directs a laboratory and, with his team, investigates the brain and runs experiments that he says demonstrate the first steps of telepathy. He also wants to explain the shamanic practices of Mexico in scientific terms, and he studies them alongside his laboratory work. In 1994, when his career is at its peak, he disappears. Police find no trace of him, and all of his research material and computers are gone with him. The officer who took the lead in the case, later removed from it, gives his account, as do Grinberg's family members, close friends and colleagues.
