Plot summary
Jeremiah Denton, a Navy commander, is taken prisoner by the North Vietnamese and held for years. He is moved through a series of camps where the conditions are bad, and he is starved and tortured. He tries to keep communication going among the prisoners. At home, his wife, Jane, organizes a league of prisoners' wives to draw attention to what the men are facing.
