Plot summary

Matt Walsh takes his question to a variety of people, among them a gender-affirming therapist, a pediatrician, a gender studies professor, a psychiatrist and a surgeon who performs gender-affirming surgery. He speaks with a transgender man who describes a negative transition experience, with a transgender person who opposes medical transition for children, and with a father of a fourteen-year-old transgender boy. Mark Takano and Jordan Peterson also answer him. Among the topics are puberty blockers, transgender youth and transgender athletes in women's sports. Walsh discusses non-binary and transgender concepts with a tribe in Kenya.

Transgender activist Eli Erlick alleged that Matt Walsh invited trans people to participate in What Is a Woman? under false pretenses, a claim Kataluna Enriquez, Fallon Fox and other transgender public figures corroborated. Walsh's group, the Gender Unity Project, had its associated Twitter account suspended after the allegations.
